You Don't Have To Retaliate

Human as we are it is very hard to forgive and love your enemies. For 32 years of existence I've encountered different kinds of people. Different perception, different attitude, and different goals in life. There are some instance in life when you are good to them but in return they act otherwise, gossips, and making things that can pull you down. Well that's the reality of life. One day, I tried to listen to this preacher in you tube. I was encouraged to have a positive attitude and it changed the way i think.

"You don't have to change their mind, you don't have to prove that they are wrong. God is our defender. God is our vindicator. God will fight and win the battle.
God will prepare a table in the presence of your enemies." - Joel Osteen

What a strong message from the word of God it supports to what our Lord Jesus Christ said, love your neighbor as yourself and also love your enemies. Luke 6:27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you". The Scripture also told us, "Overcome the evil with good". You cannot overcome evil with more evil.

Joel added "Revenge is not our duty. Our duty is to bless our enemy. To bless is not for them its for you, life is too short to carry heaviness, anger, free yourself from baggage, focus on your dreams. To bless your enemy cannot lessen their mistakes, but God can work through you, you are different, you are extra ordinary, God can shine through you".

Some people say love your neighbor but hate your enemies. What will be our reward if we love only those who are good to us? Let us always remember we are different from the standard of this world. We are children of God. We are peacekeepers. Instead of revenge, pray for your enemies and be amazed what God can do behind the scene. Be still, be gentle and kind to all people, let us do it as worship, pleasing to our living God. The reward is great in heaven.

Luke 6:27-36 (NIV) 27 “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.29 If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.

31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. 35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
